At the end of this half term Year 4 will be performing 'Troy Story' to all the children in school and all parents/carers. The children now have their parts for the play and they have already started to learn them. We have also been practising the songs. We will perform the play during the last week of this half term. Dates and times will be shared with you shortly.

Thursday 18th April 2019

Our new topic this half term is called 'Were the Greeks Groovy?'. Within this topic we will be finding about the expansion of the Greek Empire, what it was like to live in Ancient Greece at this time and about the Olympics games. We will also find out about the Gods and Goddesses of the time.

In English we have started looking at different myths and legends from the Greek Era. The children are really enjoying these and have produced some fantastic letters of persuasion to different characters within the myths.

Skipping Competition

Today we took 30 Year 4 children to Leeds West Academy to take part in a skipping competition. The children had to skip in an individual or group skip against 4 other schools and then they had to work together to show a skip dance which involved all 30 children at the same time. They all did really well and thoroughly enjoyed the event. We came away with 16 gold certificates, 2 silver certificates and 3 bronze certificates. Well done to all took part!

Wednesday 13th March 2019

Today was Heritage Day in Limley Class. It was a great day filled with exciting activities. We gathered information about where we lived and then found out some key facts about important buildings in our local area. We looked at a range of ordinance survey maps that went right back to 1948. These showed us how the local area has changed over time. We also looked at census records and found out about some families that lived in Rodley over 100 years ago. A fun day was had by all!

Monday 4th March 2019

Over the last few weeks we have been designing and making our own sculptures in the style of Henry Moore. We thought about different feeling words and created a design based around these. We used scrunched up newspaper for the main structure and then added layers of modroc. When they had dried we added metalic paint. What do you think of them?

Monday 21st January 2019

Last week we went to Lineham Farm! The children were absolutely amazing and we all had so much fun. We all took part in a number of activities from cycling and climbing to guiding each other around a night line and low ropes.
